People call emergency services for many different reasons. Sometimes time is the most important factor. The chart shows different types of emergencies. Response times are very important in some and not so in others.
Can you or your family members afford to take that risk.
VOTE YES for the FIRE/EMS MILLAGE and protect yourself and your family for any type of emergency.
Time is of the essence.
Statistics show that patients who receive timely defibrillation, Advance Life Support care, and immediate transport to a definitive care facility have a more likely chance of a positive outcome.
Voting YES for the fire millage will allow the fire department to have an Advance Life Support ambulance at each of the five fire stations.
Currently, only Station #1, Station #2, and Station #4 have Advance Life Support capabilities.
"Sudden cardiac arrest (SCA) is a leading cause of death among adults over the age of 40 in the United States and other countries. In the U.S. alone, approximately 424,000 people of all ages experience EMS-assessed out-of-hospital non-traumatic SCA each year (more than 1,000/day) and nine out of 10 victims die"
"SCA is a life-threatening condition--but it can be treated successfully through early intervention with cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR), defibrillation, advanced cardiac life support."
